Application of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) for Improving The Critical Thinking and Mathematical Representation Skill
The research was conducted in one of the private senior high school in Bandung Academic year 2018/2019. The purpose of this research was, to explain about the application of Model Eliciting Activities (MEAs) for improving the critical thinking and mathematical representation skill. The study was using the method of quasi experiments with randomized control group posttest and pretest that involving 38 students as the sample. To take the sample, the researcher used cluster random sampling that include the control group (conventional class) and experiment group (Model Eliciting Activities). The result of this research shown that student’s mathematical critical thinking skill who are thought by Model Eliciting Activities is higher than student’s thought by conventional learning (t statistict
= 4,25 and p-value = 0,015 < 0,05) and student’s mathematical representation skill who are thought by Model Eliciting Activities is higher than student’s thought by conventional learning (t statistict = 2,57 and p-value = 0,025 < 0,07).
